CT Technologist

CT TechnologistWe are seeking a CT Technologist, internally referred to as a Radiologic Technologist II (Rad Tech). As a CT Technologist you will specialize and be responsible for operating CT scanners and X-ray machines to produce cross-sectional images of patient's internal organs and tissues. You will assist in diagnosing medical conditions and the treatment plan process, by producing high-quality images that help healthcare providers make informed decisions about our patient care. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning as needed.ResponsibilitiesTo perform duties in this position you must be CT certified and certified in one other modality.Prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the Computer Tomography (CT) table and explain the procedure to them with empathy, address any concerns or questions they may haveOperate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all timesMonitor our patients, as a CT Technologist ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedureAssist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced by the CT exam you may also assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain proceduresAccountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners / X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produce accurate imagesResponsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, making sure the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocols regarding infection control and hygieneQualificationsOne year of acute, clinical radiology experience is preferredKnowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic / Fluoroscopic equipment is requiredExtensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is requiredRadiology/ CT license and fluoroscopy permit as required by StateARRT-CT Certification is requiredMust possess and maintain BCLS (AHA) upon hireProficient computer skillsHere are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:Competitive compensationMedical insurance benefit plan401KFull benefits at Prime Healthcare: Status: Per DiemShift: VariableEqual Employment OpportunityCompany is an equal employment opportunity employer.
