Staff Data Engineer - Data Platform

Salary: $131,600 - 249,780 per year Requirements:

• 15+ years of relevant experience in the design, development, and evaluation of Data Platform solutions such as Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Data Products
• Advanced expertise in Databricks and AWS
• Proficient in relational and non-relational databases like SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, DocumentDB
• Experience in managing and standardizing clinical data from both structured and unstructured sources
• Skilled in building and managing solutions on AWS
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare standards including FHIR, C-CDA, and traditional HL7
• Comprehensive understanding of clinical standards/ontologies like ICD10/SNOMED/NDC/LOINC/Rx Norm
• Experienced in developing data models, data warehouses, and constructing data lakes for enterprise and product applications
• Familiarity with API design and construction, ETL processes, and tools for enterprise solutions
• Proficient in performance tuning, query optimization, security, monitoring, and release management
• Experience managing large, disparate datasets from multiple sources, both identified and de-identified
• Hands-on experience in building and deploying Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, asset bundles, and GitHub
• Collaboration experience with Data Science teams to create AI-driven solutions that enhance efficiencies and business value

• Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader within the Data Platform Domain
• Lead data strategy by defining advanced structures for data movement, storage, and maintenance of high-quality data
• Oversee project management by scheduling timelines, coordinating team efforts, and communicating project statuses
• Ensure compliance with governance standards, aligning data practices with evolving industry requirements
• Contribute to the vision and strategy for data engineering, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
• Establish visionary goals and advise on strategic plans to deliver transformative outcomes
• Expand our Data Warehouse(s) and Lakehouse solutions tailored for healthcare
• Configure and maintain unity catalog for enterprise data lineage, quality, auditability, and stewardship
• Develop and enforce Data Security protocols, ensuring the management of PHI/PII solutions
• Implement an access management policy based on least privilege principles
• Create data solutions for clients that adhere to high standards of reliability, quality, and performance
• Architect, build, and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines, ensuring performance monitoring and optimization
• Drive API development for effective data integration between various systems
• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of efficient data models for structured and unstructured data
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver meaningful and valuable data solutions
