Warehouse Loader/Unloader

Reports to Warehouse Manager

Assists warehouse manager by loading/unloading merchandise from trucks to ship to store locations.

Efficient and safe loading and unloading of trucks in a secure manner to prevent damage

Assists in receiving merchandise and reports any discrepancies

Helps stock merchandise

Maintains proper staging and loading areas

Determine appropriate loading configuration, taking into account stop order, product mix and routing, to ensure maximum trailer utilization

Load product into truck on pallets, or by hand stacking or a combination of both

Ensure the method of loading prohibits damage in transit

Inspects in coming merchandise and informs Warehouse Manager of all damages

Assists in maintaining a clear, safe, clean warehouse

Maintains a neat appearance and professional attitude

Maintains proper paperwork

Obeys all safety rules

Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry, reach, grasp, stoop, bend for up to 10 hours at a time. Position requires continuous walking, standing, frequent lifting on average of 50 plus pounds.

This position requires an individual who is honest, reputable, dependable and has both the ability and desire to serve the customers in an efficient and professional manner. Must have good communication and time management skills.

Proven experience as warehouse loader/unloader or another warehouse position

Experience or license in handling forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment helpful but not required

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Great attention to detail

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, paperwork, merchandise tickets, safety rules and regulations

Must be flexible and have the ability to perform under pressure

Ensure that work area is properly maintained in a neat, orderly fashion

Maintain safe work practices

Perform duties for other personnel who are absent

While performing the duties of the Warehouse Loader/Unloader, the employee will be regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, talk, hear and use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. This employee is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch. This position requires the employee to frequently move or lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and occasionally move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques. This person must be able to visually inspect merchandise and delivery documents.
