Project Manager

A leading national heavy civil and rail contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of major transportation and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will oversee projects from pre-construction through closeout, taking full ownership of project execution, financial performance, client relationships, and team leadership while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Lead multiple heavy civil and rail infrastructure projects from inception through completion. Assume full responsibility for project profitability, budgets, forecasting, scheduling, and overall project performance. Build, mentor, and develop high-performing project teams while promoting a strong safety-first culture. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, owners, consultants, joint venture partners, agencies, and key stakeholders. Oversee all construction activities to ensure work is completed in accordance with contract requirements, design specifications, quality standards, budget, and schedule. Manage procurement, subcontractors, change orders, claims, contract administration, and risk mitigation. Review project costs, forecasting, margin performance, and financial reporting while implementing corrective actions where required. Provide executive oversight of scheduling, cost controls, quality assurance, environmental compliance, and safety performance. Ensure compliance with all corporate governance, regulatory, client, and safety requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. 15+ years of experience managing large-scale heavy civil and/or rail infrastructure projects, preferably valued at $50M+. Demonstrated success delivering transportation, rail, transit, bridge, highway, or other complex infrastructure projects safely, on time, and within budget. Strong expertise in project financial management, contract administration, scheduling, procurement, risk management, and client relationship management. Proficiency with Primavera P6, Procore, Microsoft Office, and other construction management software. OSHA 30 certification preferred. Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Willingness to travel or relocate based on project requirements.
