Workers' Compensation AttorneyA well-established law firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its growing practice in North Carolina. This role offers the opportunity to manage a full caseload while working closely with experienced partners representing employers and insurers across a wide range of industries. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, excellent writing ability, and the ability to manage cases independently while maintaining strong client relationships.Key Responsibilities:Manage a workers' compensation defense caseload from initial claim through resolutionConduct depositions of claimants, lay witnesses, medical providers, and expert witnessesDraft and respond to motions, briefs, and discoveryReview and analyze medical records and claim files to develop case strategyRepresent clients at mediations, hearings, and other proceedings before the North Carolina Industrial CommissionInvestigate claims and perform legal analysis on new and existing casesNegotiate settlements and prepare client reports as required by insurers and risk managersMaintain ongoing communication with clients, including insurance adjusters and risk managersQualifications:Licensed and in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar2+ years of Workers' Compensation defense experience requiredExperience taking depositions and participating in mediations preferredStrong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skillsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivatedBenefits:Student Loan Repayment AssistanceMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term DisabilityHealth Reimbursement Account (HRA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA)401(k) Retirement PlanPet InsurancePaid Holidays and PTO
