Salary Range: $78,285.56 - $97,850.00 Note: Exact compensation may vary based on skill, experience and location. Location: Must be a local candidate in the greater Sacramento market. Position Purpose The Home Loan Manager leads and directs Home Loan Consultants by executing the strategies and tactics for home lending to SAFE members throughout SAFE’s retail channels (branches, contact center, and sensecu.org). The manager provides guidance and training to ensure consultants develop and sustain positive relationships with branch employees and members, promoting home loan products and achieving service and sales goals. They monitor trends in real estate markets, GSEs and mortgage products; provide education to consultants and leadership; research, analyze, and recommend products that meet member needs; maintain partnerships with retail leadership; meet quality control and turn‑time targets; and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency through data‑driven recommendations. Key Responsibilities Lead and motivate Home Loan Consultants with coaching, feedback, training, tools and systems to exceed sales & service goals. Collaborate with Retail leadership in branches and contact center to provide members with appropriate information, education and service. Monitor loan application quality, data integrity and member/staff interactions to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulations. Manage the pipeline of mortgage and home equity leads from retail branches, contact center and sensecu.org. Cover any sales personnel absences or goal shortfalls by providing branch training, motivation and support; consulting members and handling applications as needed. Recommend process improvements backed by data analysis and assist with defining, researching and implementing solutions. Lead the relationship between SAFE and service providers in loan origination, including the subscribed realtor program. Research, develop and recommend products to meet changing member needs. Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve corporate goals and lead the implementation of tactics aligned with the department’s strategy; report on results to leadership. Participate in sales forecasting, communication and management of performance goals. Recruit, hire and train new home loan consultants, as needed. Conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports. Analyze and control expenditures to align with budgetary requirements. Stay abreast of product, financing, technology and marketing trends within real estate sales and lending. Represent the credit union in the retail community through civic and charitable activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education / Certification: Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university; five to ten years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. NMLS License. Required Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of home lending regulations, policies, procedures and documentation requirements. Extensive understanding of home loan products and quality control. Working knowledge of home loan systems such as LOS, GSE automated tools, and CRM. Experience Required: Three or more years leading home loan originators, preferably in a financial institution retail branch environment. Two or more years originating residential home loans. Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational skills. Ability to develop partnerships through a collaborative environment. Strong communication and presentation abilities. Physical Demands Regularly required to sit, talk or hear and use hands to handle objects and tools. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, and stoop. Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. Moderate noise level in the work environment.
