Nuclear Accountability Software Writer

Duration of the Contract: (1) year with the option to extend for (1) additional year. Option Periods are not guaranteed and are executed at the discretion of the hiring manager. Anticipated Work Schedule: Mon-Thu, 100% Remote. Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense.

Subcontractor must have an active eFOCI registration and approved Facility Level Clearance with DOE / NNSA. Travel may be required up to one week a month. The following situations would require travel Travel to our client for badging, meet and work with core team and management Travel to other DOE Sites or to other locations to meet with NNSA or DOE to support software requirements, development or testing of nuclear material accounting software Please note – Travel cannot take place until it has been approved by procurement via a fully funded requisition and added to the Task Order Authorization. A justification, travel locations, estimated cost, and dates of travel must be provided prior to procurement approval. SRNS will not reimburse for travel to conferences or trainings. Please remember, all rates are fully burdened and should include all costs outside of direct business travel.

Education & Experience: BS/BA in Technical Communications, English, Business or related discipline and 5-7 years related experience. OR AS and 8-10 years related experience OR 10+ years directly related experience Education and/or experience in a technical field desirable. Understanding of and ability to communicate technical information required. Knowledge of publications process/electronic publishing; technical expertise of our client processes. Use of mark-up techniques, layout design, templates, and desktop publishing computers/software. Excellent verbal and writing skills.

Other Required Qualifications Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.

Additional Duties Lead the development and communication of functional requirements for nuclear material accounting software that meets customer and user needs. Organizes, leads and communicates acceptance testing of nuclear material accounting software based on defined requirements Serves as an expert on nuclear material accounting software Support Department of Energy / National Nuclear Security Administration sites in their implementation of nuclear material accounting software Provide helpdesk support for LANMAS software

Additional details Teleworking, if applicable, is approved at the hiring manager's discretion and can be revoked at any time. The subcontractor's Primary Duty Station is client when on a telework agreement. 100% remote work from an alternate duty station via teleworking will require Office of the President approval and guidance from Human Resource 5B Manual Section 2-18. Be advised, trips to and from Savannah River Site will NOT be reimbursable expense.
