Data Engineer (onsite)

The Momba Group is assisting a key client in their search for an experienced Data Engineer who is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data pipelines and infrastructure that power the Microsoft Fabric data warehouse, serving as the organization's single source of truth. This role owns ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and preparation of data for reporting, analytics, AI, and machine learning use cases. Location: 100% onsite in the Des Moines, IA metro Salary target: $90,000 - $120,000

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines into Microsoft Fabric. Architect and maintain the Fabric medallion Lakehouse structure (bronze, silver, gold). Develop best practices for data infrastructure, environments, and Git version control. Own pipeline orchestration, monitoring, governance, and documentation. Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, developers, and business stakeholders. Prepare data for AI/ML use cases including RAG and vector embeddings. Manage Fabric performance, capacity planning, and workspace organization. Troubleshoot pipeline and data quality issues.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. 3-5 years of data engineering experience. Python, PySpark, and/or T-SQL experience. Data modeling, governance, and warehousing experience.

CERTIFICATIONS

Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer, Azure Data Engineer, or similar certifications preferred.
