Podiatrist - Outpatient Community Clinic (FQHC)

Family Health Centers of San Diego is hiring for a per-diem Podiatrist to join our team at Diamond Neighborhood FHC. This position covers 1‑3 shifts per week at several clinic locations. Clinic Details Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (close for lunch 12:30–1:30 p.m.) Address: 4725 Market Street, San Diego, CA92102 Location Website: Position Overview Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Podiatrist is responsible for the operation of the Podiatry Department and provides high‑quality care to a diverse patient population. Responsibilities Assist the Medical Director in protocol and program development as requested. Complete all required documentation accurately, timely, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards and electronic medical record requirements, including medication reconciliation and clinic pool participation. Follow FHCSD policies and procedures, including timely submission of credentialing and licensing paperwork, maintaining CME units, attending mandatory meetings, and practicing medicine cost‑effectively. Maintain FHCSD behavioral standards, including effective listening, communication skills, and respectful interactions with colleagues and patients. Meet a productivity expectation of 2.74 patients per hour with a minimum of 2.2 patients per hour. Maintain satisfactory peer reviews and health‑promotion activities. Provide reliable and flexible support to meet clinic site and organization needs. Participate in the Clinical Outcomes Program and work toward organizational targets for all metrics. Handle administrative duties, including reviewing and managing lab reports, charts, and medication refills. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Ability and means to travel promptly within San Diego County. Requires an active ClassC California driver’s license, proof of liability insurance at $100,000, and a vehicle in good condition. No more than 2 points in the past 12 months; no suspensions in the last 2 years for moving violations; no DUI or felony driving within 5 years; no license revocation in 7years. Board certified in Podiatry. DEA license. Graduate from an accredited school of podiatry. Current unrestricted license to practice in California. Desired Experience At least 1 year experience working with underserved, low‑income, or homeless persons preferred. Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. Basic computer literacy for electronic medical record documentation. Bilingual (English/Spanish) capabilities strongly desired. Knowledge of taking a detailed medical history. Demonstrated commitment to community medicine.
