All licensed MBAEA employees are expected to demonstrate through work actions, work products, and outcomes the following: 1) All Iowa Teaching Standards and Alternative AEA Criteria. 2) Improved teaching and learning in schools/districts assigned resulting from programs and/or services provided. 3) Continuous improvement of professional practice through collaborative teams and individual study. 4) Effective design and/or delivery of professional development for Agency and LEA staff and administration. 5) Successful problem solving in the prevention and resolution of conflicts. 6) Use of data to inform and advance teaching and learning. 7) An awareness, understanding, and/or working knowledge of: a) Iowa Core b) Tiered Intervention Systems c) Iowa Professional Development Model d) Child Find process and procedures e) Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) and Individual Education Plan (IEP) f) Service on committees, projects, leadership groups and other activities as determined by the Agency and their supervisor. 8) Other duties as assigned.

Free and appropriate therapy services occur in both the natural environment and educational settings for early childhood programs. 1) Offer general education suggestions, when initial concerns arise, in the areas of fine motor, self- care, and sensory behaviors. 2) Evaluate problems and determine the need for services in the appropriate domains. 3) Determine goals and priorities and develop interventions appropriate to the child and the setting. 4) Implement treatment interventions. Train and monitor caregivers and school teams in implementing techniques, once they have established competency. 5) Assist home and school teams to develop functional accommodations. Assist with trial of and ordering of adaptive equipment needed to perform educational activities. 6) Assist parents and school teams by providing information necessary for communication with medical professionals. 7) Supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants. Accountability for safety and effectiveness of the service delivery process. 8) Assist with services for children who are birth to three years of age in home settings to work on oral motor, sensory, and/or fine motor concerns.
