Job Description

General Summary

Conducts, coordinates and organizes physician and APC (nurse practitioner and physician assistant) searches on behalf of the System. Develops and initiates a marketing plan for each position, sources and screens applicants and works with the practice to interview and select appropriate candidates. Provides coordination of initial and subsequent visits, relocation and orientation. Creates a positive relationship with candidates and spouses and with the recruiting practices and administrators.

Essential Functions:

• Working with the Director-Physician Recruitment and physician practice, develops a marketing plan to recruit applicants that includes Internet and journal postings and mailing pieces. Develops practice profiles and initiates telephone and internet solicitation to source candidates.

• Works in collaboration with physicians, practice managers, administrators and physicians to meet their recruitment needs. Demonstrates empathy and respect for the physician's experience in the practice.

• Sources candidates based on the needs of the practice and legal recruitment guidelines. Obtains CVs and coordinates background searches.

• Implements procedures for coordinating candidate interviews with practice manager and candidate. Escorts prospective candidates to interview sites.

• Participates in credentialing and orientation process for newly hired physicians and APCs. Assists new candidates in obtaining state licensure, DEA and the pre-application for hospital privileges.

• Participates in career days, open houses, and other activities to attract qualified candidates.

• Acts as an ambassador for the System and the community. Demonstrates a high tolerance for diversity, welcoming providers from various backgrounds to the community. Works directly with agencies and realtors to provide a positive experience for candidates and their families.

• Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment and safety standards.

• Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Minimum Education:

• Bachelors Degree Required

Work Experience:

• 2 years Recruiting experience and experience in healthcare. Required and

• Healthcare experience or human services. Required

• Physician recruitment experience. Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Able to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making skills in meeting organization objectives.

• Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative in new approaches.

• Able to establish and maintain effective relations with candidates and their spouses.

• Knowledge of recruitment and retention principles and theories.

• Able to collect, organize and interpret data from personal interviews and references to assist in placement.

• Able to make decisions based on urgency of the situation in accordance with System policies.

• Able to schedule and manage a variety of unrelated projects simultaneously.

• Able to maintain extreme confidentiality of information in accordance with policies and procedures.

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be able to provide transportation to candidates/families.
