Assembly TechnicianThis role focuses on assembling and testing electronic components and sub-assemblies in a climate-controlled production environment. You will work with hand and power tools to build, wire, and align electronic assemblies according to detailed drawings and specifications, ensuring high-quality and reliable products.Responsibilities:Assemble electronic components and sub-assemblies according to detailed specifications and work instructions.Route and install wiring, cables, and harnesses to exact specifications to ensure proper connectivity and performance.Use hand tools such as screwdrivers and crimpers, as well as power tools such as drills, to perform assembly tasks safely and accurately.Crimp wires by hand or using machines to create secure and reliable electrical connections.Build circuit boards as required, following documented procedures and quality standards.Position and align components accurately to facilitate proper wiring, assembly, and fit within enclosures or larger systems.Interpret and follow engineering drawings and related documents to complete assemblies correctly.Work on an assembly line or bench assembly station to meet production schedules and output targets.Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and materials safely.Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.Identify and help troubleshoot basic assembly or wiring problems using sound problem-solving skills.Essential Skills:Hands-on experience with assembly work, particularly in electronics or related production environments.Proficiency using hand tools such as screwdrivers, crimpers, and other basic assembly tools.Experience using power tools, including drills, in a safe and controlled manner.Ability to perform wiring tasks, including routing, installing, and securing cables and harnesses.Familiarity with electronic components and basic electronic assembly practices.Ability to interpret and work from drawings and related documents to complete assemblies accurately.Strong communication skills to collaborate with coworkers and follow instructions clearly.Solid problem-solving skills to identify and address issues during assembly and wiring.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Experience working on an assembly line or in a production environment.Experience in cable harness assembly or similar wiring-intensive work.Comfort working in a structured schedule with occasional additional hours when needed.Attention to detail and a focus on quality in every stage of assembly.Reliability and consistency in meeting production expectations and deadlines.Why Work Here?You will join a stable organization that offers a supportive environment and clear opportunities for growth. You will primarily work at an assembly bench and on an assembly line, using hand tools such as screwdrivers and crimpers and power tools such as drills. The standard schedule is 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on each Friday that is part of the 9/80 schedule. There is limited remote flexibility at this time, with every other week aligned to the 9/80 schedule, and additional availability may be expected from October through December, including some possible Saturday morning work. The environment emphasizes safety, precision, and consistent production output.Job Type & Location:This is a Contract position based out of Ashburn, VA.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
