Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week assignment, night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend and every other holiday

Highlights:

• High-volume perinatal center averaging 2,000 deliveries annually with comprehensive labor, delivery, and triage services
• Mixed patient population including low-risk patients with certified nurse midwife care and high-risk maternal fetal medicine cases
• Epic charting system with 36 hours of orientation provided at start
• Cross-training opportunities to Mother/Baby unit with potential float to NICU for feeder/grower care
• 1:2 patient ratios across all shifts with strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Modern facility with 8 private labor rooms, 4 triage beds, and 2 dedicated OB operating rooms

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license (pending licenses accepted if obtained by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and fetal monitoring certification
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with high-risk and low-risk obstetrical populations including triage, cesarean section circulation, postpartum hemorrhage management, and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Competency in neonatal resuscitation, abnormal fetal heart rate pattern recognition, and IV management
• Current references and Nursys verification required with submission
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• BSN preferred
