Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: OR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:30 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Two years of current experience in an acute OR setting. Experience with orthopedic, spine, and joint replacement procedures. Knee and hip replacement experience. Description: The unit has 7 beds with varying staff based on volume. Each room is staffed with either 1 tech and 1 RN or 2 RNs. Patient ratios are 1:1 for optimal care. The unit is equipped with advanced surgical technology including robotics and vascular equipment. Documentation is done through a Meditech system. On-call requirements include 1-2 shifts during the week and 1 weekend shift per 4-week period. Candidates must be able to scrub and circulate for all service lines. Rotating weekends may be a possibility. Typical procedures performed include joint replacement, ENT, orthopedic, spine, urology, vascular, podiatry, thoracic surgery, and plastic surgery. Additional certifications such as PALS or CNOR are preferred. Charge experience is also a plus. The RN is responsible for the observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care for all patients. Candidates should demonstrate proficient charting, a strong ability to multitask, critical thinking skills, and excellent bedside manner. Dress code consists of scrubs provided by the unit. This facility is a 228-bed accredited institution recognized for its outstanding performance and specialized surgical programs. It has been a designated primary stroke center and a Blue Distinction Stroke Center.
