Senior Clinical Research Coordinator – Cancer Center Department: SOM KC Cancer Center Clinical Trials The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, research, and hospital staff to recruit, screen, educate, and assist in the overall clinical study coordination of clinical research. The Coordinator will manage assigned clinical research studies by supervising the entire collection, compilation, documentation, and analysis of data. Additional duties include participating in quality assurance audits, supporting the development of study budgets, contracts, and grant applications, providing task direction to junior staff, and overseeing lead worker duties. Job Responsibilities Recruit, educate, and evaluate potential patients for eligibility for clinical trials under the direction of the principal investigator. Assist clinical staff in maintaining source documents and submitting case report forms. Mentor, train, and onboard junior staff to clinical research coordinator duties. Recognize and report adverse events/serious adverse events to the Principal Investigator, FDA, and sponsors. Assist with study procedures, sample collection, processing, handling, and shipping as outlined in protocols and KUMC policy. Facilitate monitoring visits, reviews, and audits; provide written and verbal reports to the Principal Investigator and Project Manager. Prepare and maintain trial contract documents and study budget reports. Track study expenditures and submit reimbursement requests. Attend continuing education, research, and training seminars as requested. Participate in quality assurance activities reviewing clinical data and pharmacy compliance, and reviewing study documentation to ensure GCP and FDA compliance. Coordinate with the Research Institute and Human Research Protection Program and maintain familiarity with KUMC policies. Review and assist editing of new protocols; assess feasibility of research protocols, including patient population, budget, and specific needs. Assist Principal Investigators with internal and external funding application submissions. Required Qualifications Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification. Minimum 8 years of related work experience; education may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis. Experience with regulations governing clinical research (CFR, GCP, HIPAA) and related statutes and guidelines. Proficiency in written and oral communication, presentation, organization, time management, and computer skills. Strong knowledge of KUMC policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree. Demonstrated experience with grant application submissions and budgeting. Advanced knowledge of regulatory affairs in clinical research. Pay Range: $70,200.00 – $105,300.00 (minimum $70,200.00, midpoint $87,700.00, maximum $105,300.00).
