Job DescriptionPosition Summary\n\n\nWorking lead, coordinates the scheduling and efforts of the Radiology Techs. Performs a variety of radiological procedures. Responsible for on-call procedures when indicated. In Absence of Supervisor/Director, this position oversees the Radiology Department to ensure that the unit is operating efficiently and effectively.\n\n\n\n Performs general radiology procedures for patients of all age groups served. Duties include: general operating procedures, start up procedures, calibration of equipment, troubleshooting, QC, preventative maintenance, malfunctioning equipment and problem solving. Assists in evaluation of new procedures, reagents and equipment. Ensures correct exam is performed with the right patient, at the right time, verifies patient identification with proper film. Explains procedure and assesses the patient before testing occurs. Assists the radiologists with fluoroscopic examinations according to departmental policies and procedures. Follows protocol for filing and copying of films.\n Performs billing and charging with hospital computer systems.\n Identifies, proposes solutions and assists in implementation of ideas for improvement in patient care and departmental / hospital operations. Identifies opportunities and implements strategies to decrease waste in supplies and equipment.\n Maintains inter and intra departmental communication via phone, fax, computer, etc. Maintains communication with radiologists. In depth knowledge of human anatomy, patient positioning and technical judgment.\n Prioritizes workload. Completes work in a timely manner. Maintains a clean and orderly work environment. Shares responsibility for organizing supplies, tracking, stocking and storing equipment.\n Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned\n\n\n\n Special Skills: \n \n Excellent verbal communication skills necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiological and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and staff.\n Problem solving skills.\n \n Minimum Requirements: \n \n Education: Completion of JRCERT approved formal program in Radiologic Technology.\n Experience: One - two years radiology experience with demonstrated leadership skills.\n Licensure/Certifications: Currently Certified and Registered in Radiography R.T. (R)(CRT).
