Maintenance Mechanic (Overnight Shift)

Overview Overnight Shift: 6:00PM–6:30AM, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Responsibilities Replace or repair belts, lacing, pins, motors, gearboxes, chains, air valves, rollers, line shafts, accumulators, photoeyes, etc. Read and understand electrical blueprints and schematics. Assist in repairing and maintaining conveyors and sorters. Troubleshoot electrical and plumbing problems within the distribution center. Assist other maintenance associates when possible. Maintain radio communication with leadership at all times. Respond to all associates politely and in a timely manner. Perform preventive maintenance on all property, equipment, and mechanical systems. Provide proactive system responses, not just reactive ones. Perform additional duties and projects as required. Qualifications High‑school diploma or GED equivalent. 3–5 years related experience and/or training in mechanical maintenance. Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Core Competencies Communication: Ability to read and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; present information effectively; respond to questions from peers, managers, clients, customers, and the public. Decision Making & Problem Solving: Ability to solve practical problems, handle a variety of variables in situations with standardization; interpret and use instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form with little direction. Physical Demands Use hands to finger, handle, and feel. Reach with hands and arms. Talk and/or hear. Stand for up to 2 hours at a time regularly. Walk or move from one location to another regularly. May need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch periodically. Lift and/or move up to 10lb regularly and up to 50lb occasionally. Work in a moderately noisy office setting with additional exposure to a moderate to loud warehouse setting. Work Hours & Conditions Punctuality and regular attendance are required.
