Critical Care Post Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse

Schedule

Shift: PM (19:00 – 07:30) - 3 × 11.5 hr shifts per week, totaling 35 hours.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Critical Care Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The role involves providing specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia across a variety of surgical cases, including orthopedics, gynecology, interventional radiology, strokes, general surgery, and urology.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Provide critical care for patients with varying degrees of acuity, adhering to ASPAN standards with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
• Assist in the care of patients who are on ventilators, and those with A-lines, chest tubes, and midlines.
• Be prepared to handle stroke patients and those requiring neurosurgical care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU and ICU.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Critical care training is required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
