Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

The General Production Worker supports manufacturing operations by performing packing, slitting, and machine operation tasks in a clean, temperature-controlled facility that produces foil and packaging for pharmaceutical products. This role involves general labor and production activities, assisting press operations, and ensuring that packaging materials meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform packing duties, including preparing, organizing, and packaging finished products for shipment or further processing.
• Operate production machinery, including large printing presses and related equipment, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Assist press operators as a press helper, supporting setup, operation, and basic maintenance activities as directed.
• Handle slitting operations to cut materials to specified sizes and ensure proper handling and storage of finished rolls or sheets.
• Carry out general labor tasks such as loading and unloading materials, moving product through the production area, and maintaining a clean work space.
• Monitor production processes and visually inspect products to help maintain quality standards for pharmaceutical packaging materials.
• Enter production data and information accurately into computer systems to support tracking, reporting, and quality control.
• Work effectively both as part of a team and independently to meet production goals and shift targets.
• Remain on feet for the entirety of the 12-hour shift and move throughout the facility as needed to support production activities.
• Lift up to 50 pounds when required to move materials, product, or equipment components safely.
• Follow all safety, quality, and operating procedures, including proper handling of adhesives and other materials used in the printing and packaging process.
• Participate in training on machinery and production processes and apply learned skills to daily tasks.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience in a production or general labor environment.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate production machinery, including printing presses and related equipment.
• Capability to perform general labor and production tasks such as packing, machine operation, and material handling.
• Comfort working 12-hour shifts and remaining on feet for the entire shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed during production activities.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to enter data accurately into computer systems.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Willingness and ability to work around adhesive smells throughout the facility.
• Strong attention to detail to help maintain quality standards for packaging materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a general production operator, press helper, packer, machine operator, or general laborer in a manufacturing environment.
• Work history in machine operation and production processes, particularly in packaging or printing operations.
• Comfort working in a temperature-controlled facility with large printing presses and related equipment.
• Willingness to receive and apply on-the-job training on machinery and production procedures.

Work Environment

The work environment is a very clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility that uses large printing presses to produce foil and packaging for pharmaceutical products. Employees work on 12-hour shifts, either 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with a four-day work week and a potential but unlikely fifth day. Team members stand for the entirety of the shift and move throughout the production area while working both independently and with a team. The facility has a noticeable adhesive smell that employees must be able to tolerate. Dress code is typical for a production setting, focusing on safety and practicality to work around machinery and materials.

This is a Permanent position based out of SHELBYVILLE, KY.

The pay range for this position is $43000.00 - $45000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
