Senior Credit Trader, Principal, Liquid Credit

Job Description We seek a Principal to join our liquid credit trading team based in New York, NY. Your responsibilities will include: Senior trader focused on bank loans, high‑yield bonds and corporate distressed securities, trading on behalf of the Liquid Credit, Direct Lending, Special Opportunities and Alternative Credit groups. Partner with portfolio managers to develop a deep understanding of the firm’s investment goals and portfolio mandates to generate actionable trade ideas, including relative value across loans and high‑yield. Source investment opportunities and deal flow by leveraging street relationships and building new buy‑side partnerships. Manage capital‑markets responsibilities such as new‑issue calendars, early‑look dialogues, reverse inquiries and strengthen relationships with counterparties and sponsors. Contribute actively to the Liquid Credit Investment Committee and Global Allocation Committee, providing technical, trading commentary and fundamental credit insight. Provide daily proprietary summaries of firm‑wide trading activity and overall market commentary for internal distribution. Foster communication and collaboration across credit teams, including Liquid Credit, Direct Lending, Special Opportunities and Alternative Credit. Partner with IT and investment operations to leverage technology for efficiencies across the trading process. Qualifications BA/BS in Finance, Accounting or related field (required); master’s degree or CFA a plus. 8‑10+ years of relevant experience in a buy‑side or sell‑side trading role, or in a capital‑markets capacity within investment‑grade and high‑yield corporate credit markets. Proficiency in understanding portfolio‑manager/client needs, generating proprietary idea flow, and partnering with counterparties to source opportunities. Track record of building strong internal and external relationships. Ability to assess facts and make quick decisions in a trading environment. Excellent multi‑tasking skills, managing parallel tasks on the trading desk. Firm understanding of trading platforms and the ability to learn required internal applications quickly. Strong grasp of credit fundamentals and market technicals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing internal and external business relationships. High attention to detail and operational accuracy. Strong sense of teamwork, ethics and personal accountability. Compensation The anticipated base salary range for this position is $230,000.00 - $250,000.00, with potential discretionary performance‑based bonus.
