Job Description

The Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) will provide critical care to patients of all age groups, managing a wide range of complex diagnoses including behavioral health issues and trauma cases. The RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care based on established protocols and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to ED patients.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and lab results.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Conduct triage assessments and prioritize patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Manage care for patients with acute and chronic conditions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of ED RN experience required, first-time travelers accepted.
• Active RN license in Maryland or compact state.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIHSS required; TNCC preferred.
• Charting system experience preferred, Epic is a plus.
