Cogent is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Machinist Service Technician to join our dedicated team in Golden, Colorado. If you're driven by the chance to directly impact organizational success and excited to share in the growth of an Employee-Owned Company , look no further!

Essential Responsibilities: (include the following; however, other duties may apply)

• Operate manual machining equipment (lathes, mills, drill presses, hydraulic presses, saws) for precise fabrication , repair , and maintenance of machine parts and tooling
• Accurately interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and manuals
• Fabricate components from metals, plastics, and composites to exact specifications
• Service and repair rotating equipment commonly found in the water and wastewater industries . Frequently working under tight deadlines
• Properly select, align, secure, and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines in a safe and responsible manner
• Consistently meet quality standards, ensuring accuracy with precision measurement tools
• Provide recommendations to optimize machining processes for efficiency and adaptability
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and safety checks
• Document precision quality repairs in our current reporting software

Experience and Certifications

• High level of mechanical aptitude (required)
• At least 1 year of experience as a Manual Machinist or Trade School Certification in Machining (required)
• Ability to use precision measuring tools (required)
• Experience operating manual lathes, mills, vertical turret lathes, and boring mills (required)
• Experience working on pumps (preferred)
• Ability to lift heavy items to 50 lbs.
• Must pass pre-employment physical (required)
