Responsibilities and Opportunities Note: The following sections outline qualifications and responsibilities; see the job as described in the original content for full context. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. 2 years college education preferred. 2 years experience as a Guest Service Manager at a 4-star property preferred. At least one year management experience. Excellent service and communication skills. Computer and telephone skills necessary. The ability to multi task and outstanding organizational skills. Essential Functions Supervise the training of all Front Office employees and motivate them to perform their jobs effectively. Ensure Front Office compliance with all systems, control policies and procedures. Monitor and control payroll and other expenses including damaged vehicles. Develop and monitor the Front Office budget. Oversee the Manager on Duty program and assume MDT shifts; assign shifts to Assistant Front Office Managers. Develop and maintain open lines of communication within the department and with other departments. Resolve guest problems expediently and professionally; ensure exceptional guest service at the front desk, concierge, and guest services. Conduct monthly Front Office meetings; schedule staff to reflect daily occupancy and ensure schedules align with occupancy patterns. Direct the efforts of the Guest Services Manager, Front Desk Agents, Guest Service Agents, and Reservations Agents. Attend property committee meetings (e.g., holiday, technology, safety) and represent the Front Office. Handle disciplinary action, coaching, and counseling sessions and related personnel issues. Ensure all group rooming lists are accurate and coordinate any special group requests. Delegate work among staff in an equitable manner. Marginal Functions To be a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT). To assist other departments as required. Will perform additional duties as requested by the Director of Rooms. Maintain a superior level of professionalism. Environment Hotel lobby with bright light, hard floors. Outside work in inclement weather may be required in snow or wet conditions.
