Job Overview The Laundry Attendant is responsible for pre-inspecting, pre-spotting, washing, drying and folding linens. The position is expected to maintain linens in a presentable and sanitary condition. The Laundry Attendant assists Housekeepers with other projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned by management. Your Day-to-Day Sort, load, unload, fold and press linen and other items. Operate washing, drying and pressing equipment according to instruction, following all applicable safety standards. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with LodgeWorks standards as required by scheduling, which varies according to hotel needs. Clean lint filters in dryers daily. Follow proper OSHA/HAZCOM procedures. Inspect linen and towels for stains, tears and other imperfections. Report or log deficiencies to the Executive Housekeeper. Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds. Assist in removing dirty linen from vacant rooms. Stock linen closets with clean linen and guest room amenities. Receive and sort soiled linen into appropriate containers. Vacuum, sweep and mop hallways, lobby and BOH areas when asked. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping. Provide professional and courteous service. Assist in any other task or duties as requested by management. Capable of standing for an entire shift or for an extended amount of time. Capable of reaching overhead, utilizing both hands, leaning over, stooping and kneeling. A plus: Practiced, with six months' related experience in hospitality or a service industry. A must: Eager to be part of a great work culture and team.
