Sterile Processing Technician Surgical Services | Island Health Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Monday-Friday with variable start times and call rotation As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will support surgical and clinical teams by ensuring instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, assembled, and ready for use. Key responsibilities include:
- Decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Operating autoclaves and washer sterilizers while maintaining required documentation and quality controls
- Preparing and restocking case carts and procedural supplies
- Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating supply orders to maintain continuity of care
- Maintaining infection prevention standards and regulatory compliance
- Responding to urgent and emergent supply needs
- Collaborating with clinical teams to support efficient surgical operations
- Participating in department training, meetings, and continuous improvement efforts
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and surgical instruments preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
