Relationship Banker I First United Bank seeks an enthusiastic and detail‑oriented Relationship Banker I to serve as the single point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service and building long‑term relationships. Responsibilities Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all products, services, policies, and regulatory issues including the Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending, Regulation E, and deposit/loan account procedures. Follow all proper procedures accurately and efficiently for every customer‑servicing activity. Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships, acting as the single point of contact for all products and services. Consistently meet and often exceed performance goals; actively participate in all sales campaigns and promote new products to customers and colleagues. Participate in meetings, bank functions, and community events as requested or assigned. Deliver excellent service by greeting customers, using their name, smiling, and building rapport to generate customer loyalty. Identify and match customer product needs through interviews and discussions, making referrals to other staff members and departments when necessary. Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and all other ancillary products; provide account opening information and complete all required paperwork. Assist customers with routine questions and requests such as balance inquiries, temporary statements, stop payments, holds, online banking, ACH, automatic funds transfer, direct deposit, wire processing, coin processing, and notary services. Process a wide variety of transactions quickly and accurately, including accepting checks for cash and deposit, money orders, savings bonds, traveler’s checks, cashier’s checks, and loan payments. Maintain proper drawer limits, perform cash verifications, and conduct vault duties while ensuring all policies and procedures are followed. Verify all transactions, place holds as appropriate, and perform cash drawer reconciliation to ensure compliance with First United Bank standards. Resolve customer complaints, problems, or other issues proactively; review and resolve account issues such as insufficient funds and exception reports. Perform security functions, including opening and closing the bank and vault, and ensuring overall safety and security of the bank grounds. Master the primary purpose and essential duties of the Relationship Banker I position and perform additional job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma strongly preferred; some college strongly preferred. One year of retail experience preferred; cash handling experience preferred. Superior customer service skills required. Basic mathematics to solve problems. Exact or highly accurate with daily work. Strong communication skills – read, write, and speak clearly with customers and co‑workers. Time‑management skills – able to work independently with minimal supervision. Good judgment and decision‑making ability. Critical thinking and logical reasoning for problem solving. Ability to multi‑task and maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
