A private equity holding company is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to oversee accounting and financial reporting across a portfolio of approximately 20 entities. This role will lead the monthly close process, deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, and manage a team of five offshore accounting professionals.
Working closely with senior leadership, this individual will help maintain strong financial controls, streamline reporting processes, and ensure consistency across a complex, multi-entity structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly close and financial reporting across approximately 20 legal entities.
- Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, management reports, and SEC-style reporting packages.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial results, reconciliations, and supporting schedules across the portfolio.
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of five offshore accounting professionals.
- Establish and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and standardized reporting procedures.
- Drive improvements in close timelines, reporting efficiency, and overall accounting processes.
- Partner with senior leadership on financial analysis, reporting requirements, and ad hoc projects.
- Coordinate intercompany accounting, consolidations, and multi-entity reporting activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting and month-end close ownership.
- Experience managing accounting and reporting across multiple entities.
- Familiarity with SEC-style reporting, complex financial reporting requirements, and internal controls.
- Previous experience managing offshore accounting teams or distributed accounting resources.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with a modern ERP or financial reporting system.
