Technical Lead

The Technical Lead PL manages experienced professionals and provides technical leadership in the end to end design, development and delivery of technology-enabled applications, products and services. This job is responsible for meeting development schedules and delivering high quality solutions that meet technical specifications and design requirements. This job manages the specification and software design phases of the software development life cycle. This job may also manage the design and implementation of new software development and enhancement efforts and software testing with other technologists.Key Responsibilities and DutiesDesigns and develops technical solutions of new software development and enhancement efforts.Coordinates coding and unit testing phases of system development and facilitates code reviews.Approves domain solutions and executes changes in line with the implementation plan.Liaises with Senior Leadership on project, operational, and strategy risks and opportunities, along with corrective action plans when required.Manages delivery on all project and operational commitments, including quality and timeliness metrics.Provides input into process improvements, cost reduction efforts, tool development to improve the software development and support process in a way that reduces complexity, improves service, and reduces cost.Understands the platform technical and business roadmap and ensures that all initiatives are aligned with the roadmap.Manages performance of direct reports through regular, timely feedback and the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and development.Educational RequirementsBachelor's Degree RequiredWork Experience5+ Years Required; 7+ Years PreferredPhysical RequirementsPhysical Requirements: Sedentary WorkCareer Level9PLRequired Skills:5+ years of Java development experience (Java 17+), including architecture ownership for enterprise platforms5+ years owning SDLC governance, architectural decision-making, and API security standards3+ years of people management or technical leadership experience3+ years owning Level 1 production support strategy for business-critical systemsExperience monitoring and remediating vulnerabilities across production releases​Preferred Skills:Experience with AWS EKS and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, CloudBees, ArgoCD)Experience defining governance frameworks and quality/security guardrails for AI-assisted development toolsFinancial services or insurance industry experience, particularly annuity products, recordkeeping, or accumulation ledger systems Related SkillsAgile Methodology, Continuous Integration and Deployment, Data Analysis, Debugging, DevOps, Enterprise Application Integration, Operating Systems Management, Problem Solving, Programming, Software Development, Software Development Life Cycle, Web Application DevelopmentAnticipated Posting End Date:2026-09-10Base Pay Range: $137,000/yr - $200,000/yrActual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
