Senior Manager, SEO

Our client, the world's largest home builder, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Contract Senior Manager, to lead their organic growth strategy across traditional search engines. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive SEO roadmap spanning technical SEO, content optimization, authority building, and AI search visibility initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in modern SEO, a strong understanding of how content is surfaced by large language models and answer engines, and hands-on experience partnering with development teams working within custom web environments, including React-based applications. This role will work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Content, and Analytics teams to improve organic performance, drive qualified traffic, and strengthen visibility across both search engines and AI-powered discovery surfaces. Hourly Rate: According to experience Key Responsibilities SEO Strategy & Organic Growth Develop and lead the overall organic search strategy across technical SEO, on-page optimization, content strategy, and off-page authority initiatives. Build and execute short- and long-term SEO roadmaps that support business growth, customer acquisition, and revenue objectives. Identify emerging search opportunities and establish strategies that improve visibility across traditional search engines and AI-powered discovery platforms. Partner with Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams to ensure SEO considerations are integrated into digital initiatives from planning through deployment. Technical SEO Leadership Lead technical SEO initiatives focused on crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, structured data, page speed, Core Web Vitals, and mobile optimization. Conduct comprehensive technical audits and prioritize recommendations based on business impact. Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to implement SEO enhancements within custom web environments and React-based applications. Monitor technical health and proactively identify issues that could impact organic performance. Lead keyword research, search intent analysis, and content optimization efforts across priority business areas. Develop strategies that improve visibility within Google Search, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and other answer engines. Partner with content creators and subject matter experts to develop authoritative, search-optimized content that aligns with user intent. Optimize content structures, entity relationships, schema implementation, and citation opportunities that increase discoverability in AI-generated responses. Monitor evolving AI search trends and recommend strategies that enhance organic visibility across emerging discovery surfaces. Authority Building & Competitive Intelligence Develop and manage link-building and authority growth initiatives designed to improve domain strength and organic rankings. Conduct competitive analysis to identify content gaps, backlink opportunities, and emerging market trends. Evaluate competitor SEO, AI search, and content strategies to inform ongoing optimization efforts. Support digital PR and content amplification efforts that strengthen brand authority and visibility. Analytics & Reporting Monitor rankings, organic traffic, conversions, engagement metrics, and business outcomes across all organic channels. Build dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide clear visibility into SEO performance and growth opportunities. Present findings, recommendations, and strategic priorities to executive stakeholders. Leverage Google Search Console, GA4, and enterprise SEO platforms to identify opportunities and measure impact. Translate complex data into actionable recommendations that drive measurable business results. Qualifications Required 5+ years of experience leading SEO, organic growth, or search marketing initiatives. Proven success developing and executing comprehensive SEO programs that drive measurable business outcomes. Deep expertise across technical SEO, content optimization, site architecture, internal linking, and authority-building strategies. Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals, structured data, schema markup, crawlability, and indexation best practices. Demonstrated experience using SEO to drive traffic, lead generation, customer acquisition, and revenue growth. Strong analytical, reporting, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Preferred Experience with AI Search Optimization, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), or AI visibility programs. Experience improving visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, and other AI‑powered discovery platforms. Experience supporting B2B, SaaS, technology, ecommerce, or high‑growth digital businesses. Familiarity with content strategy, thought leadership programs, and digital PR initiatives. Experience collaborating with distributed teams and managing multiple concurrent projects in a consulting or contract environment.
