Systems Engineer

Salary: $76,000 - 116,000 per year Requirements:

• Bring substantial experience designing, implementing, administering, and securing enterprise IT systems, ideally in regulated aerospace, defense, or industrial environments.
• Have hands-on experience supporting CMMC Level 2, ITAR-controlled data, and defense-industry compliance requirements.
• Have expertise with Microsoft 365 Government Cloud (GCC/GCC High), Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and on-premises or hybrid Active Directory.
• Have experience with identity lifecycle management, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), access controls, hybrid infrastructure, and VMware or Hyper-V platforms.
• Understand security controls aligned with CMMC Level 2, NIST 800-171, and ITAR requirements, as well as SOX ITGC requirements for related systems.
• Have experience with PKI infrastructure, certificate authorities and servers, encryption, secure data transfer, vulnerability management, and security hardening.
• Have experience managing Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, network security appliances, network segmentation, or zero-trust principles.
• Have experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions, such as Rubrik or similar platforms.
• Bring strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Be eligible to work with ITAR-controlled data as a U.S. person under ITAR.
• Be able to work on-site full time in Valencia, California.
• Preferred: Microsoft certifications in Azure, Microsoft 365, or security; Security+ or an equivalent security certification; experience in aerospace and defense manufacturing or regulated industrial environments; familiarity with data loss prevention (DLP) solutions and zero-trust architectures.

• Administer and secure our Microsoft 365 Government Cloud environments and manage Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
• Oversee on-premises and hybrid Active Directory, including identity lifecycle management, GPOs, and access controls.
• Design and maintain hybrid infrastructure, including VMware or Hyper-V platforms, and monitor performance, availability, and capacity.
• Implement and maintain security controls aligned with CMMC Level 2, NIST 800-171, and ITAR requirements, and support SOX ITGC requirements on related systems.
• Design, manage, and secure PKI infrastructure, including certificate authorities and certificate servers.
• Apply encryption standards to controlled data at rest and in transit, and support secure data transfers in regulated environments.
• Lead vulnerability management, security hardening, and audit-readiness work.
• Configure, manage, and monitor Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, and network security appliances; administer remote-user and third-party VPN access.
• Apply network segmentation and zero-trust principles where appropriate, and troubleshoot complex network and security incidents.
• Manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions, conduct and document disaster recovery testing, and protect data integrity and retention in line with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain system documentation, policies, procedures, and security artifacts.
• Work with our operations, sales, engineering, finance, and compliance teams, and support internal and external cybersecurity and regulatory audits.
