Director, Global Launch Excellence Strategic Capabilities Leader

This role leads the strategic evolution of launch excellence capabilities and methodologies across Merck's global product portfolio spanning multiple therapeutic areas. The director shapes launch readiness practices, owns key planning tools and frameworks, and drives adoption of modernized approaches across global, regional, and market organizations.

Responsibilities

Define long-term vision and strategy for launch excellence capabilities aligned with commercial priorities
Modernize launch preparation methodologies, frameworks, and standards for global adoption and consistency
Provide strategic oversight of launch planning tools, playbooks, frameworks, and readiness capabilities
Lead cross-functional collaboration across commercial, medical, market access, and regional stakeholders
Translate launch insights and market feedback into improvements to tools and methodologies

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
10+ years in launch excellence, commercial strategy, operations, or related biopharmaceutical roles
Executive communication, stakeholder management, and organizational influence capabilities
Demonstrated success leading enterprise capability development and commercial transformation initiatives
Deep expertise in launch planning, readiness, commercialization, and cross-functional execution
Experience designing capability frameworks, business processes, tools, and governance structures
Strong people leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams
