Senior Corporate & Private Equity Associate (Los Angeles)

Overview

McGuireWoods is seeking an associate to join its Corporate and Private Equity practice. The role supports a nationally recognized deal team advising private equity funds, independent sponsors, family offices, portfolio companies and strategic investors. This position is designed for an associate with five to seven years of acquisitions experience who is ready to take meaningful responsibility on sophisticated transactions and to work directly with clients and senior lawyers.

Salary: $365,000 - $415,000

Responsibilities

• Lead private equity acquisitions and quarterback transactions, manage workstreams, and coordinate with clients and opposing counsel.
• Contribute to strategic judgment to drive successful outcomes on platform acquisitions, add-on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, minority investments, exits and other complex corporate transactions.
• Handle governance and investor-relations matters arising from investment activity.
• Collaborate with a national platform and leverage innovative technology to improve service delivery, including leveraging Harvey AI for research and drafting support.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of experience in acquisitions for private equity funds, with demonstrated ability to quarterback transactions.
• Strong academic record and exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working with innovative technology platforms—Harvey AI experience is a plus.
• Must be barred in California or eligible for California admission per firm policy.
