CAT Scan Technologist | Part-Time Rotator | Middletown Campus

Position Part‑Time CT Technologist – rotating between evening and midnight shifts at ChristianaCare’s Newark campus Imaging Department. Primary Function The primary function is the performance of all phases of CT scan testing on hospital in‑patients and outpatients, in accordance with established procedures and protocols, under the direction of the radiologist. Responsibilities Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of CT scanner units. Completes all technical assigned imaging and non‑imaging procedures within the designated scheduled times. Verifies insurance pre‑authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning a patient. Assists in the learning process of students and new staff in department procedures, quality control, and radiation safety. Administers all contrast media under physician’s supervision; assesses patients for adverse reactions and changes in status. Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors. Performs i‑STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures. Provides care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development. Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Schedule 40 hours per pay period (two 12‑hour weekend shifts and two 8‑hour weekday shifts). Weekend shifts: 11:00–23:30 one weekend and midnight–12:30 the other, rotating between midnight shift and day/evening shift. Weekday shifts: 8‑hour shifts covering MED CT and Newark CT (any shift). Requirements Completion of ARRT registry in CT scan. Licensed by the State of Delaware on Radiation Protection. Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology preferred. Completion of the CT Registry exam is a job requirement; non‑certified technologists may have 2 years to pass. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Compensation Hourly pay range: $38.22 – $61.16.
