Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force\u2019s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.\n\nWhat you will get to do:\n\nA Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer can get in on the ground floor of a system designed to provide another 50 years of security for this great nation. Nuclear Surety ensures that nuclear weapons are always protected against peacetime and wartime threats. A Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman on the Sentinel program will be provided with the opportunity to:\n\n * Performing decomposition of Department of Defense safety manuals into requirements and allocating them to design teams for implementation\n * Provide systems engineering expertise to the design, integration, and testing of a next generation ICBM weapon system\n * Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, cost, risk, supportability, and analysis for mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems\n * Evaluate the physical security design based on the Department of Defense Safety manuals\n * Interface directly with various compartments of the Department of Defense and Department of Energy to ensure safe design and operation of nuclear weapon systems\n * Use model-based engineering tools on a major weapon system to pioneer a new way to evaluate and analyze modern design\n * Learn a niche discipline that spans all aspects of Nuclear Power and Munitions\n\n\n\nThis position may be hired at level 2 or level 3 depending upon applicant qualifications.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\nSystems Engineer (level 2):\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in STEM and 2 years of applicable engineering experience. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. \n\n#SentinelSystems\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
