Position : Registered Behavior Technician
This is a 10-month District position, non-union with benefits.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 am-3:15 pm.
Salary : Competitive salary commensurate with certification and experience. Position Summary
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will provide direct implementation of skills, instruction, and behavior reduction protocols based in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) per treatment plan developed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support a student's academic, communication, social, and daily living skills and to reduce problematic behaviors in the school setting. The Registered Behavior Technician will also monitor progress and work closely with the BCBA, assisting with assessments and staff training as needed. Reports to school principal and Director of Special Services.
Clinical supervisor: Behavior Analyst Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provides direct instruction and assists staff with implementation of individualized instruction and behavior change protocols.
• Establishes and maintains a positive relationship with the student body and faculty.
• Prompts safe and socially-acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills.
• Utilizes incidental teaching procedures as appropriate and fades prompts appropriately to facilitate successful and independent responding.
• Increases the frequency and/or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors as prescribed by the BCBA by providing access to various supports and reinforcements (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations).
• Accurately collects, records, and summarizes data on observable behavior including, but not limited to Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence (ABC), frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval-based recording.
• Follows behavioral and educational plans/interventions (e.g. IEP, BIP, skill acquisition protocols) utilizing sound judgment and seeking appropriate consultation as needed.
• Assists with preparing materials as necessary.
• Collaborates with BCBA/BCaBA and educational team members to provide interventions and support effectively.
• Performs duties in accordance with the RBT Ethics Code.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervising Behavior Analyst or Director of Special Services/Principal Qualifications:
• Must hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
• Demonstrated skills with instructional technology in support of the professional staff and student learning.
• Demonstrated experience in meeting the needs of all learners.
• Aptitude, emotional maturity, and stability necessary for working with various types of children and professional staff.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must possess good judgment in the supervision of, management of and communication with students.
• Must be certified in Physical Management Training (PMT)

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential responsibilities and functions of the job. • Sedentary to medium strength needed to exert force up to 50 lbs. • Walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods of time. • Occasional climbing, crawling, frequent stooping, bending at the waist, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. • Ability to restrain students who become physically aggressive. • Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases and contact with blood and other body fluids and exposure to physical injury from aggressive behavior. • Mobility to work in a typical school setting. • Stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration in person and over the telephone. • Vision, including frequent near acuity, occasional far acuity, and able to read printed materials, VDT screens and other monitoring devices. • Requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and to effectively and appropriately interact with the public, students and staff
