Registered Nurse (RN)

This position offers a 12-hour Day Shift. The typical schedule involves 36 hours one week and 48 hours the following week, along with the potential for one on-call shift per week. Flexibility is required for daytime, nighttime, weekend, and holiday shifts as needs may change. There is a maximum allowance of two shift call-offs.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of 3 years of experience is required, including at least 1 year of pediatric experience. Candidates must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric patients.

Certifications

The following certifications are required:

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care in the Medical-Surgical Unit (MSU) for adult geriatric and pediatric patients. Staffing ratios are designed to ensure quality care, with a typical ratio of 4:1 for non-COVID patients and 2:1 for COVID patients.

Unit Information

This is a 20-bed medical-surgical unit catering to both adult and pediatric patients. In addition to inpatient responsibilities, the RN may be assigned to assist in flu immunization clinics as needed. Travelers are expected to participate in staff meetings.

Orientation

Orientation sessions are held on Mondays only. If compliance deadlines are missed, travelers will be rescheduled to the next available orientation session.

Additional Responsibilities

Travelers may be required to float to other departments where they are qualified to work. This may include taking on patient loads if experienced and competent or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones.

Availability for holiday coverage is required.
