Job Goal

The Substitute Food Service Worker supports the United Community School District food service program by assisting in the preparation and service of nutritious, high-quality meals for students. This position helps ensure meals are provided in a safe, efficient, and positive environment while supporting the overall operation of the district's food service program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience or training in food service
• Ability to work cooperatively and positively with students, staff, and community members
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to maintaining good personal hygiene and safe food handling practices

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and meal service following established procedures
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and district food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Support daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient and organized service
• Maintain the quality, appearance, and proper handling of food items
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to perform a variety of food service duties as assigned
