Logistics Management Specialist 1

Job Summary We are seeking a Logistics Management Specialist 1 to support the Logistical Support Services contract for the U.S. Capitol Police. The position requires coordination of logistics activities and is contingent upon contract award. Location & Hours Primary place of performance: 499 South Capitol St SW, Washington, D.C. 20003. This is a full‑time position working 40 hours per week during normal business hours (6:00–18:00). Responsibilities Forecast demand to optimize inventory and replenishment planning. Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely deliveries. Conduct market research to support procurement decisions. Prepare procurement requests and travel documentation. Maintain equipment receipt, issue, and disposition records. Coordinate transportation of equipment, supplies, and materials. Drive Class C vehicles to support mission requirements. Lead inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels. Conduct logistics audits ensuring policy compliance. Analyze logistics data and recommend operational improvements. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics management, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data‑driven decisions. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in logistics software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Ability to pass a comprehensive background check & drug test. Authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship. Ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift over 50 lbs. Valid driver’s license with a good driving history. Capability to learn to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack through USCP training required; experience operating a forklift and electric pallet jack preferred. Preferred Qualifications Certification in logistics or supply chain management. Experience working in a federal government or law enforcement agency. Knowledge of federal regulations and guidelines related to logistics operations.
