Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12 hours)
Hours/Week: 36 hours
Employment Type: Contract, Travel
Licenses/Certs: BLS, ACLS, PALS (NRP preferred)
Experience: Minimum 2 years PICU experience; cross-training for Adult ICU/Med-Surg tele helpful

What You'll Do
- Provide high-quality pediatric critical care for diverse patient conditions including MS, DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-operative neuro and ortho patients.
- Titrate medications such as pressors, insulin, heparin, and pain meds.
- Conduct phlebotomy and manage IVs, CVLs, drains, and wound care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including RT, hospitalists, and intensivists.
- Follow hospital protocols and ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR.
- Flex between NICU, adult ICU, or step-down units based on experience and unit needs.
What You Need
Required:
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for multi-state licensure
- Minimum 2 years PICU experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS Certifications
- Ability to pass EKG competency exam
Preferred:
- Experience floating to adult ICU or Med/Surg Tele
- Knowledge of titration and complex medication management
- Strong phlebotomy and IV skills
About the Assignment This assignment is with a reputable hospital that values traveler support and fosters a family-like culture. You'll be working in a 6-bed PICU, primarily with pediatric patients suffering from respiratory, sepsis, and post-surgical conditions. The unit operates on a 4-day/3-day schedule, every other weekend, with holiday work expected. The hospital provides orientation and mentorship, ensuring a smooth transition into your role.
