Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Carolina Skies Club Shaw AFB, SC. Responsibilities Operates limited-service bars. Prepares a limited variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnish. Serves beer, soda and wine. Serves patrons directly or delivers to waiter. Receives payment, operates cash register, and makes and returns change to patrons or waiter. Sets up bar for operation and obtains cash bank. Maintains work area neat and clean. Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils. Stocks service bars and assist higher-level bartender as required. May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability. Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Have experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, which includes knowledge of correct proportions and mixtures to use in preparing beverages. Be able to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. Be able to follow cash handling procedures. Be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds. Satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages. Be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. Be able to communicate clearly with customers and possess skill in dealing with the public. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement..
