The Veteran Homes provide direct nursing home care at facilities in Sandusky and Georgetown as well as domiciliary living to qualified veterans in Sandusky. Create and manage staff schedules. Help plan menus and daily food preparation. Make sure all food service operations follow health, safety, and infection control standards. Train new employees and provide ongoing staff education on equipment, safety, and kitchen procedures. Inspect kitchen and dining areas for cleanliness and safety. Check deliveries for quality and accuracy and keep track of inventory. Maintain attendance and other employee records; approve time off and address performance issues when needed. Assist with planning and serving meals for special events. Ensure proper food storage and security of kitchen areas. Qualifications Completion of 1 yr. trg. program in food service management 12 mos. exp. in food service preparation 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development.

• Or Completion of 2 yr. trg. program in food service preparation or hospitality management technology or 2 yrs. exp. in food service preparation 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development. -

Unusual Working Conditions May be required to stand for extended periods of time. May be required to lift heavy objects from time to time.
