Our Finance & Accounting team delivers accurate, timely, and compliant financial information that supports operational excellence across our practices, all while maintaining strong internal controls and stewardship of organizational assets.About the Role: We're looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Tampa, FL. This role will be involved with accounts payable functions and supports key steps in our month-end close process. You'll work closely with leadership and the accounting team in a fast-paced, audited healthcare environment.What You'll Do:Accounts PayableProcess vendor invoices with accurate coding and routing through required approval workflowsSet up and maintain vendor records, including W-9 collection and 1099 reportingPrepare and process check runs, ACH, and wire payments in accordance with dual-approval controlsReconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepanciesPerform credit card reconciliations and expense codingSupport duplicate-invoice prevention and purchase authorization controlsMonth-End ClosePrepare and post journal entries related to AP accrualsAssist with account reconciliations tied to the AP subledgerSupport the month-end close sequence, working within established timing and dependencies across all areasAssist with variance analysis on select expense accountsMaintain clear, audit-ready documentation for all work performedGeneralSupport internal and external audit requests with organized, accurate documentationOperate within PPOA's internal control framework (segregation of duties, approval workflows, least-privilege access)Maintain awareness that financial systems may contain PHI and handle all data in accordance with HIPAA requirementsAssist with ad hoc projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager or ControllerWhat We're Looking For:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)1–3 years of accounting experience, ideally with AP and general ledger exposureWorking knowledge of GAAP fundamentalsProficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups); experience with Microsoft Dynamics (GP or 365) a plusComfort working in a regulated, audited environment with defined controls and approval workflowsStrong attention to detail and organizational skills, especially during close deadlinesClear communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally with vendors, and internal teamsNice to Have:Prior experience in healthcare or a multi-location/multi-entity organizationExposure to HIPAA-regulated financial systemsWhat We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits packageGrowth path toward Senior Accountant / broader GL responsibilitiesCollaborative Finance team with mentorship from experienced healthcare finance professionals
