Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is a freestanding, 122 bed facility specializing in general adult psych, adolescents, geriatric, and women's services. The hospital is located in southwest Houston serving the Houston and surrounding communities. Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is conveniently located between the Galleria and Meyerland shopping districts, and is only minutes away from the Houston Medical Center, Downtown, and Midtown. Our continuum of care includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services to stabilize symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other behavioral health disorders.

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is seeking dedicated and talented Program Therapists (LMSW/LCSW /LPC) to provide therapeutic services to patients. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Interviewing patients and developing the psychological history
  • Assessing the therapeutic needs of the patient and family
  • Provide counseling sessions for families, individuals, and groups
  • Developing appropriate treatment objectives
  • Preparing monthly treatment summaries
  • Act as the patients' and families' primary contact during the patient's stay at the facility
  • Serve as patient advocate with the treatment team
  • Laisse with outside agencies and individuals to develop and coordinate discharge planning with the treatment team and the patient's family

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university, in social work or a clinical related mental health field
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills strongly preferred.
  • License: Program therapist must possess licensure in the State of Texas as a LCSW or LMSW.
  • Certifications: Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care certification; certifications may be obtained during orientation.
