CVICU Registered Nurse - 3x12-Hour Shifts

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12 Rotating Shifts, primarily from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM. Other rotating day and night shifts based on the needs of the unit.

Job Description

The CVICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing exceptional care to patients recovering from cardiac surgery. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in post-operative management, particularly in the care of open heart surgery patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients recovering from cardiac surgery, including CABG, MVR, and AVR procedures.
• Administer and monitor inotropic medications, and manage hemodynamic stability.
• Provide care for patients on ECMO, CRRT, and other advanced cardiac support systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Respond to changes in patient conditions promptly and effectively.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the Epic charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN License in Maryland or a compact state.
• Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience, including immediate post-operative care for open heart patients.
• Must possess ACLS, BLS, CPI, and NIH certifications; OCN and TNCC preferred.
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and ventilator management.
