Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs a variety of rough and finished carpentry work by performing the following duties.
Job Description Safety-Sensitive Position: Yes (as defined under Oklahoma Statute Title 63 § 427.8) All candidates conditionally offered transfer, promotion or initial hiring into a DOT/safety-sensitive position shall submit to testing for drugs and alcohol and test negative before performing any job functions that are safety-sensitive or require a CDL. External job applicants with a confirmed positive drug or alcohol test result shall be denied employment and shall be required to wait one year before applying for another position within Tulsa County. Essential Job Functions
• Repair tables, shelves, desks and other wooden equipment and fixtures.
• Install acoustic drop ceilings.
• Install locks and doors.
• Perform general carpentry work in the construction, alteration and maintenance of buildings, doors, windows, screens, wood fixtures and furniture.
• Construct a variety of apparatus from blueprints and sketches.
• Utilize standard carpentry and power tools such as joiners, lathes, routers, sanders, power saws and drill presses.
• Construct sheet rock and metal stud walls.
• Construct and repair picture frames.
• Transport tools, equipment and supplies to the job site.
• Snow removal, sand bagging and cleaning properties.
• Perform assigned work orders.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
• Maintain safe working conditions; identify and correct or report unsafe conditions in work areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Job Description Qualifications

Knowledge of standard practices, methods, tools, and materials of the carpentry trade; and of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade; and of departmental policies and procedures. Ability to plan, lay out, and perform carpentry work; to read and work from blueprints and sketches; to plan, organize and work with others; and to maintain the physical stamina necessary to perform heavy manual labor. Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software. Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Education and/or Experience
Broad trade knowledge equivalent to two years of training received in a formal apprentice program in carpentry; and over three years full-tie paid employment in general carpentry or related work; or equivalent combination of education or experience, substituting one additional year of full-time paid employment for one year of the required education with a maximum substitution of two years. Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills
Ability to work subtract, multiply, divide fractions and the fundamentals of place and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions and percentages to situations. Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Oklahoma Driver's License possessed for at least 6 months. Defensive with Tulsa County within 6 months of hired. Physical Demands
