Head of Data and AI Governance

Key Responsibilities Define, implement, and maintain an enterprise Data and AI governance framework, including data definitions, quality, metadata, lineage, retention, access controls, and AI models. Establish Data and AI governance policies and standards aligned with regulatory requirements; translate them into clear controls, stewardship, and accountability across data domains. Own, maintain, and enforce standards related to data definitions, quality, metadata, and lineage, collaborating with data owners and stakeholders. Implement governance tooling (e.g., MDM, data catalogs) and embed standards into data pipelines, analytics workflows, and reporting processes to promote firm‑wide adoption. Support governance of AI models by documenting purpose, inputs, models, outputs, limitations, and maintaining AI inventories, metadata, and audit artifacts. Support regulatory and internal compliance for data processes regarding privacy, record retention, audit readiness; report risks through established forums. Qualifications 8+ years of experience in Data and AI governance in financial services, consulting, or high‑growth technology environments. Academic background in data, information systems, or related discipline; distinguished track record. Proven success standing up and operating governance frameworks and tooling. Deep expertise on best‑practice governance processes, frameworks, and tooling. Ability to translate regulatory requirements (e.g., CCPA, GDPR, ICFR) into technical requirements and operationalize policies. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, communication skills, executive presence, structured thinking, and attention to detail. Self‑directed and collaborative in a fast‑paced environment; organized, prioritizes, follow‑through, solution‑oriented, motivated to deliver results, open to feedback, committed to continuous growth. Physical Requirements This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, potentially prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and operating a computer, and the ability to lift up to 15 pounds. Eligibility Requirements (U.S. only) Must be 18 years of age or older. Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
