Associate Director

Description The Associate Director is a licensed clinician who oversees staff, operations and resources within a department or division to ensure optimal results and high employee engagement. The Associate Director ensures the department operates according to institutional policies and applicable regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Oversee operations within the assigned department; use data and fact‑based problem‑solving techniques to improve processes and outcomes. Ensure all operations comply with institutional and departmental policies and government or regulatory requirements. Recruit, orient, train, coach, counsel, mentor, discipline, and evaluate staff in accordance with all internal policies and procedures. Communicate the department’s values, strategies, and objectives on a regular basis; assign accountabilities, delegate tasks, and plan, monitor, and appraise job performance. Develop, maintain, and reconcile the departmental budget with financial responsibility and oversight for the department or division. Plan, develop, and maintain departmental standard operating procedures. Regularly review policies and procedures, and recommend changes to superiors as necessary. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state‑of‑the‑art practices; and participating in professional societies. Provide leadership for staff in the form of ongoing training, performance feedback, goal setting, and problem resolution; cultivate a culture of innovation and creativity in service of better patient care. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in public health, administration, business, or a related field; Master’s (MPA, MPH, MBA, or related) preferred. Seven or more years of experience in a professional business environment, with health‑related, project management, and supervisory experience preferred. New York State Nursing, NP, P.A., or other relevant clinical licensure required. Compensation Salary range: $115,494 – $173,241 annually. Specific compensation depends on experience, education, and operational need.
