Overview Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg, Saint Johnsbury Center, Vermont, United States Start date: 10/28/2026 | Duration: 13 weeks | Weekly pay: 1,832 – 1,871 USD | Guaranteed hours: 36 | Shift: Night 7pm–7am | Three 12-hour shifts Travel - Temporary Assignment in a rural, critical access hospital setting. The unit cares for primarily adult medical/surgical patients with occasional pediatric cases. This is not a pediatric-only assignment. You will coordinate patient care across inpatient medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric encounters within the Med/Surg service line, under the nursing process framework. Key Highlights Weekly pay range: 1,832 – 1,871 USD per week Guaranteed hours: 36 per week Contract duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7pm–7am) Start date: 10/28/2026 Work setting: Rural critical access hospital in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom Onboarding/credentialing: Credentialing requirements coordinated with onboarding ahead of start Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care for adults, with occasional pediatric patients, across a general Med/Surg unit Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care using the Nursing Process; document findings and care plans Administer medications and treatments accurately; monitor for adverse effects and respond to changes in patient condition Collaborate with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, and Nursing Supervisor to coordinate care, ensure patient safety, and support staffing needs Support discharge planning, patient education, and referrals as part of holistic care Maintain infection control practices, standard precautions, and safe medication administration during night shifts Requirements Licensure: Current Vermont RN or multi-state RN licensure Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS requiredExperience: Minimum 3 years of acute care experience; Meditech experience preferred Skills: Ability to manage care for adult and occasional pediatric patients within a Med/Surg setting, using the Nursing Process Additional: Flu shot required (no exceptions); able to work night shift and meet on-site credentialing and onboarding timelines Note: This assignment is not pediatric-only; submit RNs prepared to care for a mixed adult/pediatric population Benefits and Support Dedicated recruiter and travel support throughout the assignment Credentialing coordination and onboarding assistance to promote a smooth start 24/7 travel and clinical support during the assignment Access to on-shift clinical leadership and supervision as part of the nursing team #J-18808-Ljbffr HealthForce Healthcare
