What We're Looking For Ferrum College is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and student-centered Assistant Men's Soccer Coach to help build and sustain a competitive NCAA Division II men's soccer program. This individual will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, coaching, player development, program administration, compliance, and student-athlete success. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the field while contributing to a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Assist in all aspects of the men's soccer program, including practices, competitions, recruiting, and daily operations. Recruit, evaluate, and retain qualified student-athletes while ensuring compliance with NCAA Division II and Conference Carolinas regulations. Plan and conduct individual and team training sessions focused on technical, tactical, and physical development. Evaluate player performance and provide instruction and mentorship that supports athletic and personal growth. Monitor academic progress and encourage student-athlete success in the classroom. Assist with budgeting, team travel, equipment management, scheduling, and facility coordination. Maintain recruiting, eligibility, and compliance records in accordance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies. Support fundraising initiatives, alumni engagement, youth camps, and community outreach activities. Assist with game preparation, scouting, and game-day operations. Supervise graduate assistants, interns, and student workers as assigned. Promote student-athlete health, safety, wellness, and sportsmanship. Who You Are? Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Valid driver's license. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Commitment to NCAA Division II, Conference Carolinas, and institutional compliance. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree. Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience. Collegiate recruiting experience. Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules and regulations. Experience mentoring and developing student-athletes in a higher education environment.
