Final and In-process Inspector

We have an outstanding Contract position for a Final and In-process Inspector to join a leading Company located in the Severn, MD surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $36.88 Hourly 

**US Citizenship is required.**

**Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.**

Job Responsibilities:  

• Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups andprescribed specifications to inspectvisually in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, and internal defects.Uses various measuring devices. 
• Accepts,rejects malfunctioning units or systems. Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing orinspection instructions andchecklists. 
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• This opportunity involves working closely with the Engineering and Manufacturing team to build prototypes, support New Product Integration (NPI) andproduction builds.
• Assist in helping to determineRoot Cause and Corrective Action activities.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

• High school diploma or equivalent and any STEM major.
• Associate's degree in Technology with 5 years of Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineering experience and/or 5 years of Aerospace/NASA Industry Quality inspection experience.
• Certification in therelevant workmanship standards, such as: IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 w/spaceaddendum, J-STD-001 w/spaceaddendum, NASA-STD-8739.1, etc.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and acceptance criteria for Aerospace components such as cable harnesses, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies andsoldering.
• Experience with hands-on inspection of electronic components, printed circuit boards, electronic assemblies, fabricated mechanical parts andElectro-Mechanical Assemblies.
• Ability to understand and follow Engineering and Quality documentation, drawing/blue prints, process flow charts, manufacturing travelers, and work instructions.
• Experience using Electro/Mechanical hand-held inspection equipment, Microscopes/magnifiers
• Understand and contribute to performance metric reporting.
• Must be hands-on with prototype and new product/process introduction builds.
• Must be able to perform highly detailed, in-process and Final Inspection activities.

Desired Qualifications: 

• Previous work experience in a Quality Inspection role in support ofAerospace/NASA Programs.
• Experience identifying process and product yield trends.
• Ability to tailor level of effort based on customer requirements and expectations.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Understands AS9100 Quality Management System Requirements.
• Experience working in a Manufacturing and Engineering Lab environment. Some lab areas may require labcoat and additional gear to support ofthe lab's cleanliness requirements.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment under deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff aswell as individualsacross the Company and Customers.
